I love hiking, especially in the Rocky Mountains surrounding Durango, CO. It is rewarding. I LOVE being outdoors, in the sun, and seeing all the plants and wildlife. It just makes me so happy to be outdoors exploring the wilderness. Not only is it a rewarding experience, but there are also, but hiking has many benefits.

Great way to get your body moving

Hiking is a beautiful way to get some exercise. No matter the terrain of the trail you are hiking, you will be moving. Getting your body moving throughout the day is important, especially if you work at a desk or typically live a sedentary lifestyle. By exercising regularly, you can improve your overall cardiovascular health as well as reduce your risk of many health concerns, such as:

  • heart disease

  • high cholesterol

  • type 2 diabetes

  • obesity

Mental health

A great activity to do with friends and family
